Questions lifters ask

What is a bench mat and what does it do?

A bench mat is a non-slip grip surface you lay on the bench press pad under your upper back. Gym pads are smooth vinyl, so leg drive slides you up the bench instead of pushing the bar. The Odyssey Bench Mat holds your back in place so your leg drive goes into the bar and your shoulders stay set.

Does the Odyssey Bench Mat fit every bench?

Yes. It lies flat and is not strapped to the pad, so it fits any flat or incline bench of any width or thickness, and works for dumbbell press as well.

Is the bench mat allowed in competition?

No. IPF rules forbid foreign substances on the equipment. It is a training tool that gives you the same setup on every bench while you prep.

What is the Odyssey Bench Mat made of?

An Advanced Grip Polymer surface that grips both the pad and your shirt. It is thin, lies flat and packs flat in a gym bag. Wipe it with a damp cloth to keep the grip clean.

How do I use liquid chalk?

Dry your hands, squeeze a small dot into one palm, spread over palms, fingers and thumbs, and keep your hands open for a few seconds until it dries. Top up between exercises rather than re-coating.

How long does an 80 mL bottle last?

It depends on how often you train and how many lifts you chalk for. Because each application is a small dot, a bottle typically lasts weeks of regular training. Using too much per application is the usual reason it runs out faster.

Is liquid chalk allowed in gyms that ban chalk?

Usually. Liquid chalk makes no cloud and leaves nothing on the bar, which is why most gyms that ban loose chalk allow it. Policies vary by location, so ask the front desk.

What is in Odyssey Liquid Chalk?

Four ingredients: magnesium carbonate (the chalk), isopropyl alcohol (dries it in seconds), silica silylate (dry-touch finish) and cyclomethicone (spreads it evenly before it dries). No fragrance, no antiperspirant.

What is Immortal Grip?

Premium chunked block chalk made by Odyssey with Professional Weak Guy and Immortal Legacy, developed over months to dial in moisture and density. It is for the heaviest pulls where loose chalk is allowed, and layers over the liquid.

Which lifters use Odyssey?

Nonso Chinye, IPF World Record holder in the deadlift, pulled 420 kg (926 lb) with Odyssey Liquid Chalk on his hands and also uses Immortal Grip. The roster includes Will Ball, Professional Weak Guy, Matt Vena, Keenan Lee, Skye Moore and 30 more lifters listed on our athletes page.

How fast is shipping?

Orders ship from our US warehouse by UPS: 2 to 4 business days to US addresses, 2 to 6 business days to Canada and the rest of the world. US orders never cross a border, so there are no customs charges.

What is the return policy?

Every Odyssey product carries a 90-day money-back guarantee. Train on it, and if it does not do what we said, contact us within 90 days for a refund.

How does the chalk subscription work?

A bottle ships every 30 days at the subscription price shown on the product page. You can pause, skip or cancel any time from your account page.
