Liquid Chalk in the USA: Where to Buy and Why Ours Ships From a US Warehouse

Most of the lifters who buy Odyssey Liquid Chalk are in the United States, and most of them found us the same way: they searched for liquid chalk, bought a cheap bottle on Amazon, and went looking for something better. This page covers where to buy liquid chalk in the US, what to look for in a bottle, and how an Ottawa company ends up delivering to Texas in three days.

Where to buy liquid chalk in the US

• Amazon and big-box sports stores. The widest selection and the lowest prices. Most bottles are magnesium carbonate and alcohol in a thin consistency. Fine to start with; the usual complaint is that it rubs off within a set and you use a lot of it.
• Climbing brands. Friction Labs and similar make good chalk, built for climbing first. Our liquid chalk comparison covers how they differ from a lifting formula.
• Lifting brands direct. That is us. Odyssey Liquid Chalk is formulated for barbell lifting and sold from our own store, with a US warehouse so delivery is as fast as a domestic brand.

What to look for

1. Consistency. Thin chalk coats unevenly and flakes. A thicker suspension spreads to an even layer and bonds. Reviewers who switched to Odyssey describe the difference as the chalk feeling "thicker in a good way".
2. What else is in it. Ours is four ingredients: magnesium carbonate, isopropyl alcohol, silica silylate for a dry-touch finish and cyclomethicone so it spreads before it dries. No fragrance, no antiperspirant. Some brands add rosin for tack; check your gym's view on that.
3. Proof it holds under real load. Nonso Chinye, IPF World Record holder in the deadlift, pulled 420 kg (926 lb) with Odyssey Liquid Chalk on his hands. American reviewers report their own numbers: pulls in the 600s and 700s, in their words, on the review roundup.
4. A guarantee. Chalk is personal. Ours carries a 90-day money-back guarantee, opened or not.

How a Canadian company ships US orders in 2 to 4 days

Odyssey Products is based in Ottawa, Canada. Our inventory sits in a US fulfillment warehouse, so a US order ships domestically by UPS, typically arriving in 2 to 4 business days, with no customs forms and no border delays. Prices display in USD at checkout for US visitors. Canadian and international orders ship from the same warehouse in 2 to 6 business days.

Liquid chalk and US gym rules

Most US commercial chains restrict loose chalk and tolerate liquid, because it makes no cloud and leaves nothing on the bar or floor. Policies vary by location and by manager, so ask. We wrote about the options in what to do when your gym bans chalk. Several of our US reviewers train at chains with soft knurling and no chalk policy and bought liquid chalk for exactly that reason:

I train at my college gym and the bars don't have much knurling, so this chalk is a lifesaver for me. Used to use some cheap Amazon stuff, but this beats it in every aspect its super grippy

It's the best chalk I've ever used, and I use it to pull in the 700s and it performs great. It dries very quick and lasts for multiple sets. A great product!

Buying for a while

If you train four or more days a week, the 3, 6 and 12-bottle supplies ship in one box and bring the per-bottle cost down. Lifters who want block chalk for max pulls as well as liquid for every set can get both in the Grip Stack with Immortal Grip, the chunked chalk we make with Professional Weak Guy.
